(June 14th), 1995 – Michael & Lisa Marie give an interview to ABC’s Primetime Live with Diane Sawyer. The Scream video is premiered. A new controversy arises about some lyrics to the song They Don’t Care About Us that would be anti-Semitic which Michael categorically denies.

Michael leaves his hotel around 12.20pm to attend a fan demonstration at the Sony Music offices on Great Marlborough Street in London. He arrives at 1.30pm, riding on the top deck of a London open topped bus which has been organized for him by a group of fans.

Later, at the Equinox nightclub at a fan club event, Michael speaks of his displeasure with Sony. He holds a banner reading ‘Sony Kills Music’ and announces that he will not release another album with the label after his box set. Michael is upset that his latest album, ‘Invincible’, hasn’t been promoted as thoroughly as his previous releases. Fan demonstrations around the world have been held outside Sony’s offices in New York, Switzerland, Holland and Spain with another planned for the USA.

1976 Motown releases The Jackson 5 Anthology.

1984 Chuck Sullivan announces the first three venues for the Victory tour in Kansas City, Irving and Jackson-ville, with the opening concerts scheduled for July 6–8 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

1991 Off The Wall magazine, holds the UK’s first ever Michael Jackson Day. The party held at London’s Hammersmith Palais attracts over 1500 fans who dance to Michael’s music and videos, raise money for charity and are given the chance to actually meet Michael Jackson in person!

1995 – Statues of Michael Jackson constructed by his record company are ceremoniously unveiled in several European cities to tie in with the Jackson bust which appears on the cover of the album.

1995 The video for ‘Scream’ is aired around the world during the broadcast of ABC’s live Primetime interview with Michael and Lisa held by Diane Sawyer.

1995 Michael and Lisa appear semi-naked in the video for ‘You Are Not Alone.’

1995 There is controversy over Michael’s ‘They Don’t Care About Us’ lyrics, as the media report that, ‘Michael Jackson, stung by accusations of anti-Semitism, has apologized over one of his songs and promised to include a written apology on future copies of his new album. CNN report that Michael will re-record some of the controversial lyrics, replacing “**** me” with “strike me” and “jew me” with “do me.”

2009 In acknowledgement of his upcoming ’This Is It’ concerts, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London announce a brand new figure of Michael Jackson is to be unveiled. This will be the tenth time the world renowned museum will have portrayed Jackson, making him the most featured star ever, with only the Queen having been portrayed more.

    Michael Jackson is truly the king. When i listen to his records i feel as he is still alive. For sure one of the most significant music stars ever been born!
